Onion Rice and Traditional French Fries!!

Recently I tried Onion Rice and traditional french fries (as it was made in my own way :) ). I really loved the combination along with simple Onion Raita. Both these dishes are effortless to make and amazing combo for lunch!! These recipes are quite familiar due to which I am giving few tips rather than a complete recipe to make the dishes more lip smacking and delicious. :)

Tips to make this recipe more tasty :

1. Onion Rice - Add Corn flour powder before the masala is mixed well with rice. Also Squeeze lemon (according to the quantity of rice) after mixing it well with the onion masala. Pepper powder & Coriander powder adds awesome taste eventually. Also add less mustard seeds and more cumin seeds (Jeeragam). If you love to have this more spicy, add more pepper powder and chili powder.

2.Traditional French Fries - This is very similar to potato curry as every one do. One difference is the way we chop the potatoes. Chop up the potatoes in the form of thin and fine sticks (U can observe it in the picture). This way of slicing the potatoes is really eye-catching. Add chili flakes - This looks delicious and good to taste. Corn flour powder, pepper powder and Corrinader powder can be added in this recipe too. People who are lovers of garlic taste, you can add Ginger garlic paste & Asafoetida . This is more yum!! :)

A quick tip for side dish : Fryans and Onion Raita.

Engeyum Epothum - Movie Promotion - Incredible songs!!

As a sign of promoting the movie "Engeyum Epothum" starred Jai, Anjali, Sharwanand and Ananya, the team (Fox star studio) has released the video of 2 best songs of the movie which is undoubtedly attracting the crowd.

The 2 songs which catches my attention too is "Govinda Govinda chennai ila pudhu ponnu"  and "Maasama" songs from the movie. Both the audio and the visual is flamboyant and bubbly :) Hats off to the whole team and I am eager to watch this movie and hope it should be the best as the songs do!!

I cannot definitely miss to tell about this song - "Chotta Chotta Nanaya vaithaai" sung by chinmayi in the same movie. The lyrics are awesome and the music too!

In a nut shell, I am keen and in fact impatient to watch this movie on this Friday! :) Willing to watch it asap!!

I hope you all enjoy watching this songs which I have shared here..:)

Imperative Facts To Know For Weight Reduction !!

1. Fat percentage for men - 10 to 20% and Fat percentage for women - 20 to 30% ( If it exceeds, it leads to health related problems)

2. Ideal BMI (Body Mass Index) - Between 19 and 23 (Normal), Between 24 and 29 (Over weight), Above 30 (Obesity - High risk of diseases)

3. People should weigh according to their height (For example, if height is 155 cm, the ideal weight of a person is 55 kgs --) Height - 100 = Ideal weight).

5..Rice and wheat - Both are rich in carbohydrate and Sugar. The advantage of having Chapattis - Rich in fibre which absorbs Cholesterol (Majority of the people skip rice and have chapattis as a replacement to rice for reducing weight which is definitely a Presumption).

6. Dieting alone doesn't help in reducing weight. Proper food supplements intake (like Proteins, Vitamins, Minerals), proper choice of food, Low calorie food intake (Calorie intake & the rate its burnt constitutes a major part of it) helps a lot in reducing weight. (Of course, a bit of walking and small exercises also adds flavor to it!)

7..Protein is very important to our human body like the Cement for a building. They are the building blocks in our body. The right daily amount of quality protein is very essential. X weight (Kg) of a human body = X gram of Protein - Normal amount of Protein Intake.
(Proper proportionate of Protein and calcium is important. Even if one is high, the accumulation of either of those forms gal stones/ Kidney stones). Protein plays a major role in losing weight in a healthier way.

High Nutrition + Low Calorie + Small Exercises (like Walking) = Healthier life + Weight Reduction

Hope this helps for you too. See you next time..!
Stay Healthier and keep smiling!!!!!!!!!

Recipe of the week - Chapatti Noodles

I normally adore cooking different dishes. I have tried preparing different food varieties however I am inspired to post it on my blog now from one of my close friend Varshini.

I came across this interesting recipe through one of my friend and I tried making it yesterday for myself and for my brother. It was really appetizing and very simple to prepare. Most importantly, the time taken in preparing this dish is too low.

This gives you a supporting hand when there are left out chapattis (Even freshly made chapattis also included when you are bored of eating normal chapattis with some side dishes) or if some sudden visitors in home/ during parties.

Ingredients:
-           Chapattis (Left outs / freshly prepared) - 5
-          Onions – 2 medium sized
-          Tomato – 2 Small sized
-          Capsicum – 1 Small Sized
-          Green chilies – 1
-          Mustard – Required amount
-          Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon
-          Chilli powder – 2 teaspoons
-          Corriander powder – ½ teaspoon (For taste)
-          Garam masala – 1 teaspoon
-          Salt – Required amount
-          Oil (2 teaspoons)
     Procedure:
-               -  Pile the Chapattis and cut them first into 4 Quarters. Then into long thin strips ( Scissors helps here in making fine thin strips than a Knife)
        DSC_3497DSC_3499

Heat a pan with Oil and add mustard followed by delicately chopped Green Chillies, Onions, Tomatoes and Capsicum.\
-         Fry the mixture well for a minute.
-         Lower the flame and add turmeric powder, Chilli powder, Corriander powder, Garam masala and pinches of salt ( This is because chapattis already have salt, so adding less would taste better)
-         In a higher flame, fling the pan well after adding all the strips of Chapattis and mix it thoroughly (You can see the change on the weight of the strips after mixing it well, the texture changes and it can be seen)
-          Lastly place the yummy noodles in a plate and garnish it with coriander leaves/ Curry leaves.

     Best Side dish for this:

-          It will taste great with Onion Raita.

Nee Korinaal...!! - A Masterpiece

I am an ardent lover of music and especially a great fan of singer Karthik. I was really moved by the way he sung "Nee korinaal" song from 180. Its just "Woooowww". Shwetha Mohan also did a great job in fine voice modulations. I would love to listen to the song thousand times and also worth watching it..!! Romantic and beautiful song to listen as well as to watch. The way this song was sung is really very different. The same lyrics sung in 2 different shruthis / tunes which impresses me a lot and I am just fanatical about the music. The song is classical mixed light music. No words to describe..!!Personally, A Great round of applause for the music director Sharath for making such a beautiful symphony.

Here it goes...."Neee Korinaaal vaanam marathaa, Dhinam theeraamale megam thoorathaaa......" Na na na na na na....It's worth sharing it..!! :)
